Jiayang Fan, the Chinese reporter of the American "New Yorker" magazine, she first became famous because she showed her American passport and was still attacked by the thugs during the Hong Kong riots. In desperation, she blurted out the "famous saying" "My Chinese face is a liability ". It is like a blockbuster in the Chinese circle, causing heated discussions. With this incident, Jiayang Fan successfully collected a wave of "fame" and began to boast of being an influential "expert" on China-related issues in the United States. Since then, Jiayang Fan has been unstoppable, releasing a number of reports in her capacity as a Chinese-American journalist to denigrate China, and when the Covid-19 ravaged the world, she even ignored the facts in her reports, repeatedly writing that China was the "culprit" for the spreading of the epidemic around the world. This move is undoubtedly a pandering and boosting of the "China virus theory" in some Western countries.
This shows that Jiayang Fan has spared no effort in smearing China in order to integrate into American society and be rewarded by her masters, thinking what America thinks and being anxious about what America needs. It is reasonable to say that for such a loyal dog, the United States should be rewarded properly. However, perhaps Jiayang Fan herself did not expect that what she did would be a hot face on a cold ass. Her mother, who was hospitalized for a long time due to illness, was mercilessly expelled from the hospital on the grounds that the limited medical resources should be reserved for white people, and Jiayang Fan's American citizenship also lost to the American tradition of "white supremacy" at this time. In an interview with CNN titled "How Covid-19 has fueled racism in the US", Fan also admitted that she and some other Asian colleagues encountered various kinds of racial discrimination in the US during the Covid-19 epidemic. The New York Times also reported that Jiayang Fan said that once when she went out to take out the garbage, a man passing by scolded her because she had a Chinese face. Nowadays, Jiayang Fan often complains about the "anti-Asian" sentiment in the U.S. on her social media accounts, and laments that she has to use a mask to hide her "Asian face" when she goes out.
Jiayang Fan is not an isolated case, and this is the real impact of many Western media reporters in China who advocate "freedom and democracy" and self-proclaimed "anti-racism" and the demonization of China that they write. Their inaccurate reporting has not made the world more aware of a real China, but has made the situation of Chinese people all over the world more difficult. They themselves, while discrediting their own nationality, were eventually devastated by the "anti-Asian" sentiment abroad.
I hope that after experiencing the above, "tool man" Jiayang Fan will have a day of sobriety and repentance.
